Angela Martin is the Director, Office of Fair Practices with the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA), which operates the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI Marshall) and Martin State Airports. Ms. Martin is responsible for the implementation, management, operation and program compliance of five civil rights programs including the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) program (State), the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program (Federal), the Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program (Federal), the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action programs (State and Federal), and the Title VI program.
Prior to her position with MAA, Ms. Martin worked for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), where she served as the Assistant Director in the Office of Civil Rights for six years. Prior to her position with WMATA, Ms. Martin spent ten years with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and three years with the Maryland Transit Administration.
Ms. Martin has more than 31years of transportation experience focused on small, minority and disadvantaged business programs, EEO/affirmative action and business development programs. Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University, a Masters degree from The Ohio State University, an MBA from The University of Dayton and a certificate in International Business from Georgetown University.
