Robin Gibson

Robin began her career in transportation with the City of Philadelphia’s Division of Aviation as a Management Trainee in 2003 at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Prior to coming to the Airport, she worked in various Human Resource and Finance Administration related positions. In less than ten years at PHL, she was promoted from Management Trainee to Properties Specialist and then to Executive Assistant to the Chief Revenue Officer. In 2017, Robin was again promoted to her current position, Assistant Director of Aviation, Business Development. Robin is a highly-skilled leader and manager at the Philadelphia International Airport. Her experience and responsibilities include business development, property, concession and contract management, contract compliance, and financial analysis. Her areas of expertise include food beverage, retail, advertising, wi-fi, hotel and rental car and other ground transportation concessions as well as commercial management and aviation agreement negotiations and operations, leadership, and relationship development. She is actively involved in the administration of the Airport Concession Disadvantage Business Enterprise (ACDBE) Program and has been assisting with ACDBE and DBE Program administration and compliance since starting at the Airport in 2003. She offers proven success in program administration and restructuring procedures to elevate service, customer and client satisfaction, and efficiency levels.

In addition to her work duties, Robin is highly involved in various professional and personal organizations. These include Women Transportation Seminar (WTS) where she currently serves as the Vice Chairperson Special Projects Committee, and previously served as chair of the Special Projects Committee and Diversity Committee and participated on the WTS International 2013 Conference Planning Committee. She is the Chairperson of the ACI-NA Business Diversity Committee and previously served as Vice Chairperson and participated on the Steering Group for 8 years as well as serves as a member of the Commercial Management Committee. She is one of Philadelphia International Airport‘s AMAC representatives and has previously served on the planning committee for the 2004 AMAC Conference that was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

While balancing her career and personal life, including her two daughters, Robin obtained her Master’s Business Administration degree with a concentration in Public Administration along with a Governmental Administration focus in 2011. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Administration.

Ms. Gibson is very committed to diversity and the inclusion of women and minorities in the transportation industry and enjoys the opportunity share her experience and knowledge in this area via presenting at various industry conferences. Previously, she has participated, developed, and implemented various workshops and training programs related to business opportunities, business and supplier diversity, concession development and management, joint venture partnerships, and regulatory compliance.
