Juan López-Rios

In October 2016, Mr. López-Rios was appointed as Deputy Director of the Long Beach Airport, a department of the City of Long Beach, California. Mr. López-Rios is responsible for direct oversight of the staff in the areas of Public and Government Affairs, Noise and Environmental Affairs, Strategic Plans and Programs and collaboration with other City departments on Citywide efforts. Mr. López-Rios has 21 years of public administration experience with the City of Long Beach and has worked in various roles overseeing project and economic development efforts, real estate development, and real estate leasing & acquisition activities for numerous departments including the departments of the Airport, Community Development, Public Works, Economic Development, and Parks, Recreation and Marine. From April 2008 to December 2011, Mr. López-Rios served as the Leasing and Development Officer for the then newly formed Airport Department.
Mr. López-Rios received his Bachelor of Science degree in business and public administration with an emphasis in organizational management from the University of the Pacific and his Master of Science degree in education and administration from Colorado State University. He is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), active with the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) and a new member and first time attendee of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Economic Opportunity and Policy Forum.
