Michael K. Jackson II, Esq. is the Senior Vice President of Planning & Construction, Economic Development and Environmental Services for the Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA), which manages and operates Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Willow Run Airport.

In this role, Jackson oversees departments with various responsibilities including project construction; design of WCAA infrastructure; paving projects and facilities; the lease, sale and future development of WCAA property; recycling and solid waste disposal; hazmat testing and abatement; deicing fluid collection; wetland mitigation; and wastewater permit management.

Jackson began his tenure at WCAA as Assistant General Counsel and was later promoted to Vice President of Economic Development. Before joining WCAA, Jackson served as a Senior Assistant Corporation Counsel within the City of Detroit’s Transactions and Economic Development section of the Law Department, representing the city in all commercial transactions, including the negotiation of leases, purchase agreements, easements, license agreements, and software agreements. As an Associate Attorney with Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, P.L.C., Jackson advised lenders on all aspects of commercial real estate, including financing, sales and acquisitions, leasing, workouts and foreclosures. Jackson also served as counsel to national lenders on mortgage-backed loan originations for portfolio lending and loans destined for securitization in the capital markets.

Jackson holds a B.S. and MBA from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law. He resides in Metro Detroit with his wife and three children.
