Amber Meshack serves as the Director of Business, Jobs, & Social Responsibility (BJSR) at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). LAWA is the public agency of the City of Los Angeles that owns and operates both Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), one of the world’s busiest large hub airports, and Van Nuys General Aviation Airport (VNY).

In her role as Director of BJSR, Ms. Meshack oversees the development of workforce and business opportunity policies and programs aimed at generating positive economic impacts and expanding the competitive pipeline. Her responsibilities include ensuring contractors fulfill their business and workforce commitments for the $30 billion LAWA capital program, managing LAWA’s First Source Hiring Program, administering the contractor development and bonding assistance program, implementing strategies to enhance supply chain pipelines, and fostering strategic business and workforce partnerships.

Under her leadership, the BJSR Division has achieved significant milestones, including the establishment of LAWA’s inaugural small contractor training program, the BuildLAX Academy; launching the Contract Finance Assistance Program to facilitate access to small business loans for LAWA construction contractors; forming the first team dedicated to monitoring business and workforce commitments on capital projects; spearheading the development of LAWA’s policy to evaluate and score inclusivity commitments in competitive procurements; and directing LAWA’s first-ever disparity study.
