Farad Ali has served on the Raleigh Durham International Airport Authority (RDU) for 8 years. As the immediate past Chair of RDU and a current member of the Raleigh Durham Chairmen’s Advisory Committee, Ali understands the challenges of leading a mid-size international airport that provides the Research Triangle Region’s economy with a $12.6 billion annual economic impacts supporting 5,000 jobs on campus and more than 86,000 regional jobs. He has also served as the Chair of the AMAC Board of Directors (2017) and he is currently the Chair of the AMAC Government Affairs Committee, which is responsible for monitoring, recommending, preparing and presenting AMAC’s positions on legislative and policy matters affecting its membership.
Ali has served on the City Council of Durham, North Carolina and was the runner-up mayoral candidate in 2017. Previously, Ali was the Vice President at the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), which is one of the country’s leading corporate membership organizations with a National Office in New York and 23 affiliate regional councils across the country. The network also includes five international partner organizations located in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, China and South Africa. Ali was responsible to enhance the network effectiveness and efficiencies of the national office and the 23 affiliate regional councils across the country, to support the corporation’s global commitment to supplier diversity.
