Steven C. Baker is the executive director of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock. He has over 35 years of experience in airline, real estate and airport management.
Before joining Clinton National Airport, Baker held leadership roles with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, where he oversaw airline affairs, procurement, risk management, small business development, administrative services, concessions, real estate development and revenue innovation for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport.
He began his career with United Airlines at Chicago O’Hare International Airport before joining American Airlines, where he led the legal and financial team that developed Chicago’s first international terminal. He later served as deputy general manager at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and deputy aviation director for the Miami Dade Aviation Department, overseeing Miami International Airport and five general aviation airports.
Interspersed with his airline and airport experiences, Baker established the Atlanta office of Aviation Resource Partners, an African American, woman-owned aviation consulting firm, and later worked with the Harold A. Dawson Company, an African American real estate development firm.
The son of two entrepreneurs, Baker is a product of the Philadelphia pubic schools. He holds a doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of arts degree as a College Scholar at Cornell University.
